Terms of Use

Day One Business Kits™ · dayonebusinesskits.com/terms/ · Last updated: October 6, 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Ron Jenkins, doing business as Day One Business Kits™ (“Day One,” “we,” “us”). They cover your use of dayonebusinesskits.com, our free resources and the digital templates we sell. By using the site or our products, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

The short version: use our templates to run your own business, don’t resell or share the files, and check legal, tax and pricing decisions with a qualified professional. Purchases happen on Etsy and follow Etsy’s rules too.

1. Who can use the site

You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to buy products or sign up for our emails.

2. Purchases through Etsy

Our products are sold through our Etsy shop at etsy.com/shop/DayOneBusinessKits. When you buy there, Etsy’s Terms of Use and our Etsy shop policies also apply, and Etsy processes your payment. Prices are shown on each Etsy listing and may change. Products are digital downloads: nothing physical is shipped.

3. Refunds

Because digital files can’t be returned once downloaded, we don't ask you to send anything back: if a template isn't right for you, contact us within 30 days of purchase and we'll refund your order. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under Etsy’s purchase protection or consumer law where you live.

4. Your license to use our templates

When you buy a template, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use it. Here’s what that means:

You mayYou may not
Edit and customize the templates with your business name, logo, prices and details.Resell, share, give away or upload the original or edited template files, in whole or in part.
Use them to run one business that you own or operate.Offer them as templates, “done-for-you” kits, or part of a course, membership or bundle.
Print as many copies as your business needs, and send completed documents (invoices, agreements, checklists) to your own clients.Claim the template designs as your own work, or remove our copyright notices from the template files.
Ask us about a multi-business or team license by emailing admin@dayonebusinesskits.com.Use the templates for a business that isn’t yours, such as making documents for other businesses for a fee.

Day One keeps all ownership and copyright in the templates, guides, worksheets, graphics and site content. Your license ends automatically if you break these Terms.

5. Free resources

Our free worksheet and guides are for your own use. You’re welcome to link to our pages or quote a short excerpt with credit and a link. Please don’t copy whole articles or redistribute our free downloads.

6. Not professional advice

Our guides, templates and worksheets give general information to help you start and run a home-service business. They aren’t legal, tax, accounting, insurance or financial advice, and using them doesn’t create a professional relationship between us. Laws and requirements vary by state and city. Have a licensed professional review contracts and agreements before you rely on them. Read our full Disclaimer.

7. No guaranteed results

Pricing examples, worked examples and calculators show methods, not promises. What you earn depends on your area, your costs, your effort and things outside anyone’s control. We don’t guarantee any income or business outcome.

8. Acceptable use

Don’t use the site to break the law, send spam, upload harmful code, try to access parts of the site you’re not authorized to access, scrape content in bulk, or interfere with the site working for others.

9. Links to other websites

The site links to other websites. We don’t control other sites and aren’t responsible for their content, products or policies. If we add affiliate links in the future, we’ll disclose them on the page and update these Terms.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The site and our products are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We work to keep information accurate and current, but we don’t promise it’s error-free or complete.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Day One and Ron Jenkins won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data, arising from your use of the site or products. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the product involved in the last 12 months, or $50 if you didn’t buy anything. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

12. Indemnity

If you misuse the site or products, or break these Terms, and that leads to a claim against us, you agree to cover our reasonable costs from that claim, including legal fees.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Hamilton County, Ohio, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere. Before filing anything, please email us so we can try to resolve it informally.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date at the top shows the latest version, and changes apply from that date. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the updated Terms.

15. Other terms

If any part of these Terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. Our not enforcing a term right away doesn’t waive it. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Disclaimer and Affiliate Disclosure, are the full agreement between you and us about the site.
