Day One Business Kits™ · dayonebusinesskits.com/privacy-policy/ · Last updated: October 11, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Day One Business Kits™ (“Day One,” “we,” “us”) collects when you visit dayonebusinesskits.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. Day One is operated by Ron Jenkins, based in Ohio.
The short version: we collect your name and email only if you sign up for our free worksheet, join our buyer updates list or send us a message. We use analytics tools and advertising pixels from Google Ads, Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Pinterest that set cookies to see how people use the site, measure our ads and show our ads to people who have visited (retargeting). We ask for your consent where the law requires it, and you can opt out of ad tracking at any time. We don’t sell your personal information for money. Purchases happen on Etsy, so we never see your card details.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Email signup: when you request the free “Price Your First 10 Jobs” worksheet, or join our buyer updates list after buying a template, we collect your email address and, if you provide it, your first name.
- Messages: if you email us or use our contact form, we collect your name, email address and whatever you include in your message.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the site, our tools and their providers collect standard technical data: pages viewed, time on page, the site that referred you, approximate location (city or region, based on IP address), device type, browser and operating system. Some of this is collected through cookies and similar technologies, described in Section 4.
Information we do not collect
We don’t take payments on this site. When you buy a template, you’re taken to our Etsy shop and Etsy handles checkout and payment. Etsy shares order details with us that we need to deliver your purchase, such as your name, Etsy username and order contents. Etsy’s handling of your data is covered by the Etsy Privacy Policy.
2. How we use your information
- To send the free worksheet you asked for, plus follow-up emails with tips, new guides and product news. You can unsubscribe from any email at any time using the link at the bottom.
- To answer your questions and provide support for products you bought.
- To understand which pages are useful, fix problems and improve the site.
- To advertise: to measure whether our ads on Google Ads, Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Pinterest lead to visits and signups, and to show our ads to people who have visited the site (retargeting) or who are similar to our visitors.
- To follow the law, enforce our Terms of Use and protect the site from fraud or abuse.
3. Tools and service providers we use
We use a small number of outside companies to run the site. Each one handles data under its own privacy policy.
| Provider | What it does | Their privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics | Measures site traffic and how visitors use pages, using cookies. | policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites |
| Microsoft Clarity | Records anonymized sessions, clicks, scrolling and heatmaps so we can see where pages confuse people. | microsoft.com/privacy |
| Google Ads (through the Google tag and our linked Google Analytics account) | Records visits and actions such as signups so we can measure our Google ads, and lets Google show our ads to past visitors (remarketing) on Google and partner sites. | policies.google.com/technologies/ads |
| Meta Pixel | Records visits and actions such as signups so we can measure our Facebook and Instagram ads, and lets Meta show our ads to past visitors and people similar to them. | facebook.com/privacy/policy |
| Pinterest Tag | Tells us when someone who saw or clicked our Pinterest content visits the site or signs up, and helps Pinterest show our ads to relevant people. | policy.pinterest.com/privacy-policy |
| Complianz | Shows our cookie banner and remembers your cookie choices. It runs on our own site. | complianz.io/legal-hub |
| Sender (Sender.net) | Stores email signups and sends our emails. | sender.net/privacy-policy |
| Etsy | Handles product sales, payment and digital downloads. | etsy.com/legal/privacy |
| Hostinger | Hosts the website and keeps server logs. | hostinger.com/legal/privacy-policy |
| Google Fonts | Serves the fonts the site uses. Your browser requests them from Google, which receives your IP address. | policies.google.com/privacy |
4. Cookies and your choices
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser so it can remember information between visits. We use cookies and similar technologies (pixels) for analytics (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity), for advertising measurement and retargeting (Google Ads tag, Meta Pixel, Pinterest Tag), and one cookie to remember your cookie choices. Advertising pixels can collect your IP address, device and browser details, the pages you view and actions you take on the site, and link them to your account on that platform if you have one.
- Cookie banner: where the law requires it, such as for visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, we ask for your consent before setting analytics and advertising cookies, and those tools don’t load until you agree. You can change your choice at any time using the “Manage consent” button on the site.
- Browser settings: you can block or delete cookies in your browser. The site still works without them.
- Google Analytics opt-out: Google offers a browser add-on that stops Google Analytics from collecting your data.
- Opt out of ad tracking on this site: open “Manage consent” and turn off marketing cookies. Where US state law treats ad tracking as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, we treat this choice, and a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser, as your request to opt out.
- Google: manage or turn off personalized ads in My Ad Center.
- Meta: if you use Facebook or Instagram, manage ads based on activity from other websites in your Ad Preferences.
- Interest-based ads: you can opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies at optout.aboutads.info (US) or youronlinechoices.com (EU/UK).
- Pinterest: if you have a Pinterest account, you can manage ad personalization in your Privacy and Data settings.
5. Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for money. We share it only:
- with the service providers in Section 3, so they can do their jobs for us;
- if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our users or the public;
- with a buyer or successor if the business is sold or reorganized, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information.
When advertising pixels from Google Ads, Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Pinterest run on the site, those platforms receive information about your visit. Under some US state privacy laws (such as California’s), this can count as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising, even though no money changes hands. In the last 12 months the categories involved are identifiers (IP address, cookie and device IDs) and internet activity (pages viewed and actions on the site). We don’t knowingly sell or share the information of anyone under 16. You can opt out using the choices in Section 4 or by emailing us.
6. How long we keep information
We keep your email address for as long as you stay subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we keep only what we need to make sure you don’t get emailed again. We keep support messages for up to 1 year and then delete them. Analytics data is kept according to each tool’s settings.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, get a copy, correct it, delete it, or opt out of targeted advertising. To make a request, email admin@dayonebusinesskits.com. We’ll respond within the time required by the law that applies to you, and we may need to confirm your identity first. We won’t treat you differently for using these rights.
If you’re in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, we rely on your consent for analytics and advertising cookies and pixels and for our email list, and on our legitimate interest in running and securing the site for basic server logs. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
8. Email
Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link and our mailing address. We honor unsubscribe requests promptly, and within the 10 business days the US CAN-SPAM Act requires.
9. Children
This site is for adults starting a business. It is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it. Learn more about the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act.
10. Security
We use reputable providers, keep access to subscriber data limited, and the site uses HTTPS encryption. No method of storing or sending data online is 100% secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
11. Links to other sites
Our pages link to other websites, including Etsy and government sources. We’re not responsible for their privacy practices, so please read their policies.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll also post a notice on the site or email subscribers.
13. Contact us
If you have a question about this page, email us at admin@dayonebusinesskits.com or use our contact page.
